Schedule Your Painting Project

Once you’re ready to move forward, we’ll schedule your project at a time that fits your calendar. Our scheduling team coordinates every detail so that your project runs smoothly and efficiently. We’ll assign a trusted crew of skilled painters who will arrive prepared and ready to bring your vision to life.

Preparation and Setup

Thorough preparation is key to a flawless finish. As your project date approaches, we’ll handle every detail to ensure a smooth start.

We protect your furniture, flooring, and belongings, repair minor imperfections, and prime surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion and lasting results.

Room Access and Coordination

At Cerberus Painting, we take pride in working efficiently and respectfully in every home. While we don’t need daily access to every space we’re painting, some rooms may need to remain unused overnight or for a few days, depending on the project’s progress. To keep things running smoothly, we recommend creating a quick guide or plan that outlines how you’d like our team to move through your home during the project. This helps us maintain a steady workflow while minimizing disruption to your daily routine.

Flexible or Unoccupied Spaces

Unoccupied areas—such as hallways, stairwells, powder rooms, and guest bedrooms—make excellent “flex spaces.” If we’re ahead of schedule or need to adjust our workflow, these rooms give us flexibility to continue working without interfering with your primary living spaces. This approach allows us to stay productive while keeping your home as accessible and comfortable as possible.

Paint Sensitivity and Air Quality

Your health and comfort are always a priority. That’s why Cerberus Painting uses only low-VOC and zero-VOC interior paints, which produce minimal odor and are safer for your family than traditional formulations. However, individuals who are particularly sensitive to paint fumes may prefer to sleep in another room for a short period after their space has been freshly painted. This precaution helps ensure comfort while the paint fully cures.

Specialized or Custom Projects

Projects involving specialty finishes—such as wallpaper installation, faux finishing, or decorative textures—may require multiple visits to complete. Because these techniques involve layering, precision, and extended drying times, the affected areas could be unavailable for longer than standard painting projects. Our team will provide clear timelines upfront so you can plan accordingly.

Rooms Requiring Additional Repairs

If certain rooms need drywall repair, patching, or other surface restoration before painting, they may remain out of service slightly longer. Drying times for repair materials can vary, and we want to ensure every surface is properly cured before applying paint. This extra time helps guarantee a smooth, lasting finish that meets our professional standards.

We address peeling paint, clean and repair surfaces, and apply high-quality primers to defend against Colorado’s climate.

When our crew arrives, you’ll meet your Project Team Lead, who will confirm your expectations and establish a clear plan before work begins. Our teams work efficiently and respectfully—keeping disruption to your home or business to a minimum.

Trim Your Landscaping

Before work begins, please trim back any trees, bushes, or plants that touch or are close to the exterior surfaces being painted. Keeping vegetation at least 8–10 inches away from your home allows our team to work more efficiently and ensures an even, professional finish. Trimming hedges and shrubs also helps prevent accidental contact with wet paint and provides the space needed for proper application.

Clear Work Areas

To help us maintain a safe and efficient workspace, please remove items such as bicycles, hoses, garden tools, planters, outdoor furniture, sports equipment, or decorative objects from areas surrounding your home. A clear work area allows our painters to focus fully on delivering a clean, precise result without delays or obstructions.

Windows and Doors

On power washing day, all windows and doors should be securely closed and latched to prevent water from entering your home. You may notice water spots on the glass afterward — this is a normal part of the process and will be cleaned once painting is complete. Any paint chips loosened during power washing will be removed after the ground has dried, typically before the painting crew arrives. While we make every effort to clean thoroughly, some small chips may remain. Rest assured, our goal is always to leave your property neat and tidy.

Turn Off Lawn Sprinklers

Please turn off your lawn sprinklers after the power washing phase—especially if they spray onto areas that will be painted. This helps prevent moisture from interfering with the drying and curing process, ensuring a long-lasting finish.

Keep Painted Doors and Windows Open

When doors or windows are freshly painted, they need time to properly cure to avoid sticking. We recommend leaving them open on the day they’re painted. You’ll be able to close them safely before bedtime. Your Cerberus Painting Job Site Supervisor will coordinate the best time to complete this step for your convenience.

Protect Your Pets

For the safety of your pets and our crew, please keep animals indoors or securely away from the work areas throughout the project. This helps prevent accidental exposure to paint, debris, or equipment and ensures a safe environment for everyone.

Step 4

Open and Ongoing Communication

We believe communication is the foundation of great results. Your assigned Project Manager oversees every detail and remains your single point of contact throughout the process. You’ll receive regular updates on progress, timelines, and any questions that arise, ensuring you’re always informed and confident about the work being done.

Step 5

Cleanup and Care

We treat your property with the same respect we’d give our own. After painting is complete, our crew performs a full cleanup—removing materials, tidying the work area, and leaving your home or business spotless. The only thing we’ll leave behind is a beautifully finished space.

Step 6

Post-Project Follow-Up

Your satisfaction is our top priority. After the paint has dried and the job is complete, our team follows up as part of our Quality Assurance Program. We check in to ensure you’re completely happy with the results and that every detail meets or exceeds expectations.
